THE VICISSITUDES OF LIFE

Once upon a time, when I was a child I could remember how things were going well that time, little did I know that it will turn out some day to be a little fierce. Chai!
My Mom once told me that there was a time when you can prepare a three square of meal with just a paltry amount of money; but now #5,000 cannot do that for you. Olurun!
My dad on his own part once told how he got his first job after his tertiary education. Companies, firms and other well known establishments will come asking for their permission to work with them with good welfare packages; but today, the opposite is the order of the day. Eeyaah!
They told us that Education is the key and knowledge is power. Back then, people were yearning for western education knowing full well that once you get it, you have already paved way for yourself to greatness. Alas! today some of our creams are the once championing the ‘SAY NO TO WESTERN EDUCATION MANTRA’ and either telling the teeming generation to go into terrorism and involvement in other societal vices. Why won’t those creams doll out good measures to sustain the education growth? Hmmm!
Youths, the leaders of tommorrow! Oh yes, we have been hearing that since donkey years. But believe you me, that was then when our youths were empowered very well, they were given sense of belonging and responsibility. However, today we have been an object for thuggery and fracas etc. Chineke!
The truth is that, life is absolutely an arena of countless vicissitudes.
The only way out is GOD and nothing short of that.

Or what you think?

  1. You are very on point Mr Oputa, our youths have turn to weapon for the politicians, most of are leads don’t even have plans for us than to consume our money, run outside the country and establishe there, even if they consume our money and still establishe here in Nigeria at least we will still have something to account for, but is only God that can save us and vindicate us. Education self is nothing this days

  2. The Bible says “we should put our trust on God…and lean not unto our own understanding”. But it also says that “that man who wouldn’t work, let him not eat”….so I think these words explains it all. Education is very good…but we should learn other skills that will carry us along in life later one…other skills which are legal and legitimate.

  3. You are very on point Mr Oputa, our youths have turn to weapon for the politicians, most of are leads don’t even have plans for us than to consume our money, run outside the country and establishe there.

  4. So help us God, education is nothing to write home about because what we gain fro it, we are not making use of it for a better future….lord nah your hand we day. Thanks for that information.

  5. So now the foundation of education is not guarantee you to make it only if you wise up and think deep on what you can add up to any level of education can save you

  6. Life itself is a mystery that can be unraveled and couple with how our nation turn out to…If you are waiting for anyone in this life to motivate you…you are on a long tale…life will be a better place to live when we all embrace responsible responsibility

  7. This life is indeed a vicissitude. My mum once told me that when she started her teaching carrier as a grade 2 teacher, she was earning #5 naira as salary and at the end of the month, she will still have some money left. A time is coming when our Western education certificate will no longer be useful,a time is coming when probably government will tell us we are on our own. Let start something now. Thank you TMC for the enlightment and words of wisdom.

  8. This world is indeed dynamic. We have youth have to try to engage ourselves despite the education because dis days it won’t put food on our table

  9. God will surely make a way for his people.
He will help us and bless us if we find something to do and not just sit in one place expecting manners to fall from heaven.

  10. This is not the time to wrap you hand and wait for manner to fall from heaven or government to he eradicate poverty, you have to stand on your feet learn skill making your life meaningful, stop living by people pocket,

  11. Its here in Nigeria that things are no longer workout due to bad leaders. In other part of the world where there are responsible leaders, they still enjoy the dividend of being a citizen. Prayer is the key as you rightly said

  12. Nigeria at least we will still have something to account for, but is only God that can save us and vindicate us. Education self is nothing this days
